Et fantastisk år.

Hvis jeg skal fortælle mig historie bliver jeg nødt til at spole tiden nogle år tilbage.

For ca. 3 år siden tog jeg en beslutning om, at tabe mig. Har været tyk fra barnsben og haft elevatorvægt i mit voksne liv. Jeg lagde kosten om og begyndte til spinning. Har aldrig kunne fordrage sport, været rigtig dårlig til det, altid været den sidste der blev valgt i skolen. Til min store overraskelse endte jeg med at kunne lide det. Jeg gik fra spinning til landevejscykling og kom med i en lokal cykelklub. Over 3 år tabte jeg 42 kg og endte med at være ret okay på en cykel.

Sidste år stod jeg post til North Sea Tri i Hvide Sande og til min store overraskelse var der jo helt almindelige mennesker med til Tri.
Jeg tænkte ved mig selv at det kunne jeg da også men turde ikke sige det højt i flere måneder af frygt for at blive til grin. Jeg nævnte det for min mand en dag og da han bakkede mig op måtte jeg jo til at træne.

Mine svømmeevner begrænsede sig til den klassiske tøsesvøm, brystsvømning med hovedet over vand så det var dér der skulle størst fokus. Jeg startede i den lokale svømmehal med at lære crawl da jeg havde fået af vide at det var det man skulle. Jeg kæmpede og kæmpede og måtte give op. Så jeg opgav Tri og satte mig for at løbe en halvmaraton istedet.
D. 25 april løb jeg så min første halvmaraton i tiden 2:09:08 og jeg var uovervindelig. Jeg havde ved siden af fortsat med svømning og var blevet ret god til brystsvømning da en tidligere deltager til North Sea Tri fortalte mig at man da godt måtte svømme bryst til Tri.....så på hesten igen.
Gennemførte en minitri 400/18/4  d. 27 maj i tiden 1:02:14 og jeg var solgt. Min første 2.plads 😃
Startede i ow og det var hårdt. Meldte mig til Fjordsprint i Ringkøbing Fjord og svømmede 1000 m på 27 min, deltog i Herning Challenge i Fuglsang Sø hvor jeg svømmede 1000 m på 23 min.

Dagen nærmede sig og sidste ow træning var en katastrofe. Da vi stod i vores dragter til den sidste briefing d. 21/6 var jeg ved at brække mig af nervøsitet.
Svømmedistancen blev kortet ned til 750 m da vandet var under 14 grader.

Svømningen gik lige efter bogen, den bedste svømmeoplevelse jeg har haft, vandet var perfekt og jeg ærger mig stadig over at distancen var kortet af.

North Sea Tri blev gennemført i tiden 2:40:17.

Og hvad har jeg lært af dette fantastiske år?
- At jeg kan hvad jeg vil.

Jeg kan, jeg vil og jeg gør det!

Målet for næste år? Overvejer at deltage i Open Water Ringkøbing. En tur over Ringkøbing fjord fra Nr. Lyngvig til Ringkøbing på 8 km. Jeg er nemlig ved at få ret godt styr på det crawl 😉

Det er en fantastisk historie, man kan nemlig hvad man vil, hvis man ikke har et slemt handicap, eller sygdom som forhindre en i det. Træning er hvad der skal til og så en stærk vilje, og til sidst kan man jo slet ikke lade være!
